Summary:
The LMSW Social Worker provides direct social work services to patients and their families who utilize the Emergency Department of Cook Children's Health Care System. The social worker works alongside doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff to ensure the child's ongoing healthcare needs and the family's needs and concerns are addressed. Social Workers have specialized training to assist families in times of physical, emotional, and financial stress. They are well informed about available resources in the community so they can support families in need. This position requires an assertive person who is able to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and think critically. This position requires dialogue with individuals regarding difficult topics. This Social Worker will be available to assist on other floors during the scheduled shift to assist with any social work needs.
Hours: Saturday & Sunday 6:30 am - 7:00 pm

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 6:30 am - 7:00 pm
Education, Licensure & Certification:
- MSW/MSSW from an accredited school of Social Work.
- LMSW Licensure in the state of Texas.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Prior experience working with children and families preferred.
- Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment.
