Opened in 1999, JBHH consolidates evaluation, clinical treatment, teaching and research, to offer a full continuum of care for children, adolescents, adults and elderly, including crisis stabilization, inpatient hospitalization, and outpatient programs. In association with the University of Miami Leonard M. Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to design and implement appropriate treatment plans, including discharge plans.
- Provides professional counseling and therapeutic intervention to patients and/or families utilizing treatment modalities appropriate to work with adults and their families.
- Collaborates with community agencies which provide services for adults and their families.
- Leads or co-leads patients groups as needed.
- Submits statistical reports as required.
- Participates in orientation and training of social work and interdisciplinary staff.
- Participates on research projects as required for program planning and evaluation.
- Maintains current knowledge of social work practice including specific knowledge of the bio-psychosocial issues of adults.
- Participates in Committees as assigned.
- Supervises students.
- Provides coverage as assigned.
- Participates in hospital, departmental and unit meetings.
- Provide Social Work Services to patients and/or families.
- Employees that work for the VOCA Trauma Recovery Network may conduct social work duties to identify and refer violent crime victims and their families to Thriving Mind South Florida (contracting as South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc.).
- The duties may include but not limited to: provides brief crisis intervention to victims and/or family utilizing appropriate, evidence-based approaches, and assess eligibility for services though Thriving Mind's VOCA-funded Trauma Recovery Network (TRN); Work collaboratively with the TRN and interdisciplinary staff to implement appropriate discharge plans and facilitate warm-handoff referrals to Thriving Mind staff to link to outpatient resources; Participates in project workgroups and meetings as assigned by supervisor and/or TRN Program Director, and performs other VOCA allowable TRN-related duties as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
- Master's Degree in Social Work is required.
- Valid Florida Licensure from the Association of Social Work Boards is required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
