What Will your Day Look Like as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?

  • Teach individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce challenging behaviors and improve overall functioning

  • Work one on one with kiddos (or small group), in-home, in daycare/school or in an EI Center

  • Collect data and write session notes to demonstrate each client’s progress toward his/her/their goals

  • Work collaboratively with your BCBA supervisor

What Will you do as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?

  • Provide intensive one-on-one therapy (or small group setting) to children with ASD

  • Follow and implement care plan goals designed by BCBAs including reinforcement procedures, teaching procedures, behavior reduction procedures, discrete trial teaching, etc.

  • Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship

  • Accurately collect, record data based on client behavior, complete session notes

  • Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)

  • Comply with all BACB and company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines

Requirements for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT):

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Valid and active RBT certification number with the BACB

  • Previous experience working with children; ASD experience strongly preferred

  • Reliability- ability to work a consistent schedule throughout the week

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • To complete the physical demands of the job (frequent sitting and standing, sitting on and getting up from the floor, kneeling, bending, and running with children) you must be able to: Stand and move for at least75% of the day; lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds

  • Hourly rate depends on education, experience with children, experience in the ABA field as BT/RBT, certification as a RBT, current confirmed BCBA student, etc.
