Job Summary:
Affinity Care MN is seeking a passionate Mental Health Professional to join our team. This position's primary purpose is to positively impact the lives of those who suffer from behavioral health concerns. The Mental Health Professional will work with clients 1:1, oversee team members and work with the client's team to help and assist with maladaptive behaviors. All duties are subject to policy, procedures, and supervisory or management guidelines and may be changed.
Other responsibilities include staff development and other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Job Responsibilities:
● Counseling clients on issues such as stress management, grief counseling, developing
and utilizing coping strategies, managing mental health symptoms, or skill
development.
● Following up with patients after an initial assessment to ensure that treatment goals
are being met
● Conducting psychological assessments of clients to identify their strengths and
weaknesses and help them develop goals for improvement.
● Track and report maladaptive behavior.
● Teaching clients new skills and methods to cope with stress or anxiety in their lives.
● Providing crisis intervention services such as suicide prevention or intervention with
patients who are experiencing psychotic episode.
● Conducting research to identify best practices in the field of mental health care and
implementing evidence based strategies.
● Provide clients with positive reinforcement and feedback.
● Willingness to be flexible for schedule changes and work locations.
Other Duties:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of clients to determine their needs and develop treatment plans
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to address client's mental health concerns
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychologists, to coordinate client care
- Provide crisis intervention services to clients in urgent situations
Qualifications:
- Must have a Master's degree. Mental health-related degrees are preferred (Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Public Health, other degrees accepted with verified experience in mental health)
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy
- Experience in crisis intervention and working with individuals with special needs is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client engagement and collaboration with other professionals
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in the provision of services
