This Addiction Counselor/Therapist role is based out of our Columbia, MD center. The Addiction Counselor/Therapist position is held by someone who is innovative and committed to learning and developing their counseling skill, working and collaborating with an innovative, inter-disciplinary team. This position requires someone who is invested in patient care and brings a solution-focused attitude and outlook.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Monday - Friday 12:30 - 8:30 pm in person at our Columbia, MD center
- Rotating Saturday virtual group facilitation 9am-12pm. Approximately one time every 6 - 8 weeks.
- Provides case management services which support a positive treatment outcome
- Serves as therapist in IOP and continued care groups, as well as provide individual therapy as needed for SUD and/or mental health disorders
- Develop patient-centered treatment plans based on results from the screening tools and bio psychosocial assessment
- Collaborates with medical staff and treatment team as a whole
- Consults with family members and referral sources in order to coordinate patient care
- Ensures adequate case management services are identified and addressed
- Responsible for maintaining electronic health records which include documentation of treatment activity and progress
- Ensures that patient records are accurate, comprehensive and meets regulatory standards
- Develops a treatment alliance with patients that is mutual, collaborative, and individualized, meeting changing clinical needs throughout treatment
- Facilitates addiction treatment groups in the IOP and OP levels of care
- Prepares and presents addiction/recovery education presentations to all patients
- Engages in case management sessions, including assessments, collaborative treatment goals, discharge planning, partnership with referral sources and/or other providers
- Works with treatment team to meet the co-occurring psychiatric needs of patients
- Coordinates care for all appropriate support services, including referral sources, family members, and other support providers
- Responsible for maintaining timely and well written documentation that meets state and CARF standards
- Demonstrates commitment to excellent patient care, which is measured through clinical outcomes, such as patient retention, attendance, successful program completion, transitioning from IOP to OP, treatment goal attainment, etc.
- Provide evaluations for substance use disorders using DSM-TR and ASAM level of care criteria
- Attends and is prepared for professional meetings, including treatment team
- Other duties as assigned

- LMSW
- LCPC
- A minimum of two years supervised counseling experience
- Previous experience in substance abuse
- Group therapy experience
- Familiarity working within an EMR
- Solid crisis management skills
- Strong administrative, verbal and written communication skills

- Competitive compensation with a base pay ranging from $28 to $44 an hour (based on experience, licensure level, and qualifications).
