The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Part-Time 3rd shift Weekend Residential Aide for the Kentucky - Tennessee Territory, located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Job Summary
Provides daily supervision, monitoring, reporting, and technical support services to clients in a residential facility. Maintains appropriate records and communicates regularly with supervisors regarding client activities. Facilitates an environment conducive to positive client morale and stabilization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of causes and treatment of substance addiction and abuse.
- Ability to monitor client behavior and determine when crisis intervention is needed.
- Effective communication skills with clinical and supervisory staff.
- Ability to organize and maintain records efficiently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or G.E.D required. One year of experience in a social service setting preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.

- Integrity and emotional stability.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone.
- Alertness during shifts.
- Physical ability to perform light lifting and walking (less than 25 lbs.), mostly seated work.
