The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure- track faculty in Psychology (Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor rank). This hire will primarily teach in the digital immersion (online) undergraduate and graduate psychology programs with a start date in August 2025. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
Teaching loads for these positions are typically 12 credits per semester (a 4/4 load), with the possibility of summer teaching. In addition to teaching, the faculty member must commit to providing service to the program, school, and university as part of their workload. With these positions, there is the potential for remote work by submitting an annual remote work exception application. Approval of remote work is subject to the needs of the program/university.

Essential Functions Of The Position
- Provide undergraduate and/or graduate level instruction in relevant areas of psychology primarily in the on-line environment.
- Engage in service activities to support the unit, college, and university
- Regularly monitor student progress.
- Develop, maintain, and update engaging and accessible course materials as appropriate to the field and modality.
- Effectively teach, supervise, and mentor online undergraduate and graduate students, including coordinating the regular training and supervision of graduate student teaching assistants.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in psychology or related field at time of hire
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness – e.g., student evaluations, syllabi, peer observation, annual evaluations, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to teach broadly in psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Two or more years of teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level in the field of psychology. One or more years of experience teaching asynchronous, large-format online classes is preferred.
- Experience in online instruction, course development, and modification using learning management systems such as Canvas
- Educational background, research or clinical experience, or professional experience related to psychology with specialization in Statistics and Research Methods and/or Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students
- Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students beyond the classroom (e.g., research projects, honors theses, teaching assistants).
- Familiarity with training and supervising teaching assistants
- Evidence of excellent communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development. Past professional development related to online learning is preferred.
