About Job

Reporting to the Medical Director, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, will serve children and families with a wide range of mental health concerns and emotional issues. Our providers will give an initial psychiatric evaluation, as well as ongoing medication management, to clients referred by behavioral health care or primary care providers. Location: Frederick, MD Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000 annually Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts therapy, medication assessments, and crisis response to new and existing clients. Develops individual service plans based upon assessment data and provides therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of on-going medication management services. Maintains documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, quarterly treatment plan reviews, and other required information in compliance with agency and third-party compliance standards. Diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for patients having mental health problems and those likely to have them. Responsible for developing appropriate treatment plans and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluations. Receives medical supervision from Medical Director. Coordinates care with other Prescribers, Therapists and other community providers for effective delivering of clinic service to patients. Document all medical/clinical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, referrals, education and consultations established by practice in electronic medical/clinical record. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience with psychiatric patients. Efficient and disciplined work habits enabling to responsibility maintain an active and high case load. Interpersonal skills needed to work with diverse populations and outside agencies or vendors. Ability to be proactive and work in a fast-paced environment. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing; Licensed in the state of Maryland with specialty in Psychiatry. Three (3) or more years of post-graduate clinical experience working in an environment where psychiatric care is provided; Previous experience working in an Electronic Medical/Clinical Record. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required.
