Industry: Healthcare / Medical Adult DaycareJob Overview:Our Exclusive Client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join a vibrant team at a medical Adult Daycare facility in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading engaging therapeutic activities that promote the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of adult participants, including elderly and medically fragile individuals.The ideal candidate will be creative, patient, and passionate about enhancing the quality of life for adults through meaningful recreation programs.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the needs and abilities of adult participants
- Conduct assessments to determine participants' needs, interests, and capabilities
- Facilitate individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, fitness exercises, and cognitive stimulation
- Encourage social interaction, physical mobility, and emotional well-being through structured programming
- Maintain accurate documentation of participant attendance, progress, and activity outcomes
- Collaborate with nursing, social work, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop comprehensive care plans
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Assist in special events, outings, and seasonal celebrations
- Monitor participants during activities and intervene appropriately to ensure safety and engagement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field (required)
- Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred
- Previous experience working in a healthcare, adult daycare, senior center, or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse adult populations
- Creativity and ability to adapt activities to meet varying functional levels
- Ability to document activities and participant progress accurately and timely
- Knowledge of safety practices and infection control guidelines

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
