SUMMARY Provide support to the community by delivering face-to-face and comprehensive coaching for individuals in the Substance Abuse Program. Provide social, educational, vocational, medical, psychological, and housing rehabilitative programming services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Facilitate and co-facilitate group counseling and educational sessions.

· Provide appropriate referrals and act as a client advocate, when appropriate.

· Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients, when appropriate.

· Perform individual and or group treatment in accordance with best practices.

· Provide medication monitoring and drug testing.

· Participate in weekly case and chart reviews.

· Work in close collaboration with other Counselors, Support Staff, Leaders, and Management.

· Develops an individualized treatment plan, representing a comprehensive continuum of care and addressing follow-up service needs to prevent relapse for each participant on their caseload.

· Maintains individual participant treatment files in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including treatment plan implementation and documentation of substance abuse counseling and activities, as well as all other pertinent documentation.

· Delivers individual and group substance abuse counseling and educational services, as well as other gender-specific and trauma informed services.

· Facilitates a culturally competent environment along with therapeutic activities that promote cultural awareness, sensitivity, and support.

· Provide comprehensive relapse prevention counseling.

· Provide counseling to strengthen positive relationships and support systems with peers, family, and community.

· Maintain safety and security of facility.

· Uphold and enforce G.L.O.M. Substance Abuse Programs standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.

· Document client progress. Prepare documentation accurately and within time frames.

· Intervene during crisis intervention situations.

· Participate in the agency’s Orientation training, staff meetings, and in-service training.

· Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, exercise professionalism at all times.

· Exercise awareness in cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety staff and clients.

· Maintain a high degree of self-awareness and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

· Utilizes trauma-informed care while applying crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and supervision of the participants.

Perform any/all other duties as assigned by your assigned supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· Current American Red Cross Adult First Aid, CPR Completion Certificate or agree to complete before start date.

· Must provide documentation of a TB test within the last year.

· Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

· License Required: Valid California Driver’s License – Class B.

· Travel: Willingness to travel: 25% of day.

· Certified Alcohol and/or Other Drug Counselor Level I or greater (CADC-I, CADC-II, CADC-III, LAADC), by State-approved organization (i.e. CCAPP)

· Minimum of 1 year of experience with substance use disorder (SUD) specific population.

· Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields.

· Exercises mature judgment and projects a professional demeanor.

· Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent professional and personal boundaries with clients.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.

· Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.

· Ability to navigate stairs and walkways unencumbered.

· Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.

· Ability to drive in inclement weather and heavy traffic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour
