The School Social Worker works 182 days per year for 7 hours daily and earns $55,548 -$105,868 , depending on experience. 


In this role, the School Social Worker will support students in school settings by assessing their needs, developing individualized plans, and implementing interventions to help them succeed academically, socially, and physically.



School Social Worker Job Duties


• Provide direct services and interventions to students: Offer counseling, crisis intervention, and support services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or other needs.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and specialists: Work with educators, counselors, and administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies that promote academic and social success for students.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation: Track and document all services provided to students, including assessments, interventions, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with school policies and legal requirements.

• Participate in IEP meetings: Provide input and expertise during IEP meetings, offering recommendations on behavior management, social skills development, and mental health support for students.

• Engage in professional development opportunities: Stay current with best practices in school social work, mental health, and special education by participating in workshops, conferences, and other learning opportunities.
