Position Summary:
- Develop and implement specific marketing plan and pre-call plan strategies for each account. Plans are based on overall marketing strategies and approved by the supervisor.
- Reports effectiveness of marketing plans to the supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Establishes, builds and nurtures relationships with various identified sources in the local and regional medical community that lead to hospice referrals. Updates accounts profile information as changes occur.
- Maintains high referral source/client satisfaction thereby sustaining or increasing patient referrals across the life span (perinatal, pediatrics, and adults).
- Creatively develops and implements action plans to grow existing and prospective referral base.
- Utilizes marketing collateral effectively to educate and promote awareness of services and programs.
- Troubleshoots real or perceived problems identified by referral sources which either, currently or potentially affect patient referrals, and effectively resolves problem issues with referral sources.
- Pre-screens patients, when possible, referred by physicians, hospitals, long-term facilities and assisted living facilities, eligibility and status, when referral is contemporaneous with discharge.
- Works closely with staff to coordinate necessary services for patients and to promote communication between staff and the referral source.
- Maintains confidentiality of all business, patient and client records.
- Manages monthly expenditures and provides accurate expense and credit card reconciliation reports to supervisor.
- Demonstrates compliance with the policies of the agency and rules and regulations of state and federal bodies, which aid in determining policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least three (3) years’ experience in health care marketing management preferably in hospice care operations.
- Must have a proven ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting; must comply with accepted professional standards and practices; must have excellent observation and communication skills, must understand hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying
- Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Demonstrates good communications skills, negotiation skills, and public relations skills.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- License Vocational Nurse with current CA license preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
