Reports to: YWCA Director of Grant Coordination/CoC Lead

Job Duties:

  • Develop a practical day-to-day knowledge of how homeless services are provided in our region.
  • Maintain clients’ dignity and privacy while collecting the minimum amount of client-level data required to access services
  • Organize monthly CoC meetings: create agenda, manage virtual meeting space, take attendance, create minutes, post minutes to website
  • Familiarize self, follow, and implement homeless services best practices across the region
  • Enter all data into ServicePoint HMIS (the shared community database) in accordance with community data standards and rules of confidentiality
  • Utilize objective criteria to prioritize applicants for housing openings.
  • Accompany street outreach and client engagement teams, on occasion
  • Organizes and manages CoC Committees to enable the effective identification of gaps in services and assists with the planning and development of solutions and resources
  • Maintains contact with region’s agencies for the provision of services for participants and assists program participants in accessing appropriate public or private community agencies to obtain specialized types of assistance.
  • Monitors escrow accounts for qualified program participants; Monitors, approves, denies, and/or processes interim and final escrow disbursements.
  • Ensures privacy and maintains the security of confidential materials pertaining to program activities and participants.
  • Promotes the Continuum of Care and member agencies at local and regional meetings and events.
  • Advocates for positive system change with local and regional stakeholders.
  • Assists with annual funding applications and required reports.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the CoC and/or the YWCA Quincy.

Qualifications: We seek flexible, driven, passionate, open-minded, client-focused, and independent candidates who can identify and act on client needs at the individual and community level.

Education: Completion of a bachelor’s degree program in Social Work or closely related field preferred.

Experience: Experience working directly with people in crisis, homelessness and/or very low-income people. Relevant education may be considered as a substitute experience. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Those with lived experience of homelessness and/or housing insecurity are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs.
  • Evidence of ongoing training and education in related areas such as mental illness, substance abuse, racial and social justice, and/or homelessness
  • Evidence of ongoing training and sound working knowledge of practical clinical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet frequent deadlines
  • Experience engaging with a diverse population and ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
  • Possess an interest in social justice and have experience doing advocacy work for underserved populations
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and engagement skills with a challenging population and in non-traditional work conditions
  • Ability to maintain professional composure during emotionally challenging situations and interactions with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking.
  • Experience with providing outreach and successful engagement to a diverse population, includes working with clients, developing trust and conducting interviews in non-traditional settings and unstructured environments Behavioral Competencies: This position requires the incumbent to exhibit the following behavioral skills:
