Job Summary

The Central Health Apprenticeship Program is a true "earn and learn" pathway to employment for individuals wanting to become a certified medical assistant. All apprentices will be full-time employees with benefits and eligible for hire upon completion of the program. The program prepares apprentices to complete the medical assistant certification exam. The Medical Assistant Apprentice provides direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with the training program in an ambulatory care setting under the direction of an Apprentice Mentor. This program includes a paid apprenticeship which includes 720 of instruction and a 160 hour externship experience.

Essential Functions

Complete the medical assistant apprenticeship program following the assigned schedule.

Successfully complete course modules.

Successfully complete required clinical externship hours.

Observe health and safety procedures.

Respects patient confidentiality at all times and treats patients with courtesy and respect.

Collaborates, communicate respectfully and professionally with all members of the care team in providing patient-centered care and regarding processes and clinical issues
