About Job

Assess and evaluate associate problems through the use of case history, interviews, and observation. Provides individual or group counseling services to UMC, El Paso Health and El Paso Childrens Hospital associates to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of experience in counseling or related field.

License/Registration/Certification:

Active CPR card.

Education and Training:

Masters degree in related field required. Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy. D) in clinical or counseling psychology or a related field of psychology preferred.

Skills:

  1. Ability to build rapport with individuals.
  2. Strong leadership qualities.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  5. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
  6. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes individual needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of individual satisfaction.
  7. Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins.
  8. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
