Job Title: Bilingual Mental Health Therapist, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT Full-time, New York
Department: ICS Family Life Center Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Reports To: Project Director, ICS Family Life Center CCBHC
Date Available: Immediately (currently Hybrid)
Summary of Position: The Mental Health Therapist is an essential part of the clinical team providing trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent traditional and evidence-based approaches in treatment and intake evaluation. Working within an Illness Management and Recovery approach, the MH therapist is on the ICS FLC team, with behavioral health case managers, a nutritionist, a psychiatrist, a peer specialist, and data coordinator. Responsive to and part of the CQI plan of the CCBHC, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of clinical protocols, EHR charting, and data collection requirements of the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) ICS Family Life Center CCBHC grant. This position is federally funded and as such COVID vaccination is required with very rare exceptions based on religious or medical exemption.
Summary of the Agency: Inwood Community Services is a not-for-profit community-based organization founded in 1979, 501(c)(3), that provides extensive programming for children, adolescents, adults and families in COUNSELING; LITERACY; YOUTH SERVICES; AND PREVENTION. ICS is an NHSC Student Loan Repayment Site and a student loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness federal program site.
The duties of the Mental Health Therapist are as follows:
● Provide individual, family, and group treatment including traditional and evidence-based approaches
● Provide trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent service
● Conduct on-going weekly intake evaluations including screening for acuity and SI/HI risk assessment; 2-4 hours per week
● Utilize the comprehensive person-centered and family-based intake assessment to complete an initial treatment plan and there after an annually treatment plan review. Alerts for due dates will be provided by data coordinator and EHR/AWARDS.
● Administer clinical assessments that inform treatment and clinical outcomes as needed
● Maintain a caseload of treatment/ therapy clients
● Collaborate with the program’s case manager for identified prevention and concrete needs of the client and the family, i.e. housing, insurance, parenting skills, suicide prevention program, etc.
● Collaborate with the program's nutritionist for identified needs in regard to metabolic syndrome and cardiac risk, i.e. weight, diabetes, HBP, etc.
● Participate in clinical team meeting
● Stay abreast of clients psychiatric and non-psychiatric medication, and update on the EHR
● Responsive to and part of the evaluation and CQI operations plan of the CCBHC
● Ensure timely and accurate entry on EHR/AWARDS for charting, clinical measures, and surveys
● Attend trainings relevant to program and position (receive 1 year training to become certified in Trauma-Focused CBT)
● Take on other assignments as per the changing needs of the ICS’s CCBHC
Qualifications:
● Licensed: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT required
● Minimum of two (2) years in a behavioral health setting w children ≥ 5 yrs and adults
● Must be highly organized and detail oriented with strong ability to multitask
● Must be highly computer literate, and proficient in Microsoft Office
● Experience with AWARDS preferred but not required
● Bilingual Spanish required.
Employment:
● Annual Salary Range: $65,000 to $74,000 commensurate with experience, plus major medical, dental, retirement plan, life insurance, annual leave, sick leave, holidays
● Hours per week: 35 hours (5 days/week; 7 hours/day)

● ICS qualifies as a public services site for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
