Position: Behavioral Health Workforce Catalyst Operations Manager (1 FTE)

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Purpose: Support the implementation and operations of the National Mental Health Corps (NMHC) Behavioral Health Workforce Catalyst model by managing program operations, implementation partners, Associate support services, licensure readiness, and program reporting.

Background: NMHC is strengthening the nation's behavioral health workforce through an innovative workforce development model focused on expanding the pipeline of licensed clinical social workers. The Behavioral Health Workforce Catalyst model supports master's-level social workers as they complete supervised clinical hours, prepare for licensure, and transition into licensed clinical practice. Through national coordination of clinical supervision, professional development, licensure preparation, and program infrastructure, NMHC helps emerging clinicians successfully complete licensure while expanding access to behavioral health services in underserved communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Operations & Grant Management

● Manage the national operational infrastructure, including participant tracking systems, implementation workflows, reporting processes, and partner coordination.

● Serve as the primary operational liaison between NMHC and the state-based implementation partner

● Coordinate regular implementation meetings with stakeholders to monitor progress, address challenges, and support continuous improvement.

● Monitor program milestones and identify operational issues requiring resolution.

● Ensure program activities align with grant objectives, timelines, and reporting requirements.

● Maintain program policies, workflows, documentation, and operational systems.

● Coordinate implementation meetings with national partners and vendors.

Associate Support & Licensure Readiness

● Collaborate with state-based implementation partner to support seamless transitions from recruitment and placement into NMHC's national Associate support model.

● Coordinate Associate onboarding, orientation, enrollment, and ongoing program participation.

● Serve as the primary operational contact for Associates throughout the two-year program.

● Manage NMHC stipend administration and participant support services.

● Monitor progress toward supervised clinical hours, training completion, and licensure milestones.

● Coordinate licensure readiness activities, including exam preparation resources and transition planning into licensed roles.

Implementation Partner Coordination

● Coordinate implementation with national partners

● Coordinating Associate enrollment with each implementation partner.

● Tracking participation and utilization of partner services.

● Coordinating issue resolution between Associates and implementation partners.

● Monitoring implementation quality and service delivery.

● Coordinating partner meetings and implementation timelines.

● Assisting with partner contracts, invoices, and deliverables.

Licensure Readiness & Program Monitoring

● Monitor Associate progress toward supervised clinical hours and licensure milestones.

● Coordinate access to licensure examination preparation resources.

● Monitor program outcomes related to licensure progression.

● Identify barriers affecting Associate success and coordinate appropriate program supports.

Data Collection & Evaluation

● Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation.

● Track program outputs, outcomes, and performance measures.

● Support external evaluation activities and continuous quality improvement efforts.

● Prepare reports for NMHC leadership, funders, and implementation partners.

● Ensure data quality and compliance with grant reporting requirements.

● Manage Salesforce data integrity, workflows, dashboards, and reporting to support program operations and grant compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement

● Represent NMHC during implementation partner meetings, conferences, webinars, and presentations.

● Deliver orientation sessions for Associates and implementation partners.

● Support future national replication and expansion of the model.

Other Duties as Assigned

● Assist the COO and CEO with additional projects and organizational priorities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

First and foremost, the Behavioral Health Workforce Catalyst Operations Manager must share a passion for NMHC’s mission to empower aspiring mental health professionals by creating career pathways that strengthen community mental health. Additionally, we're looking for candidates who possess a combination of the following:

● Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience.

● Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or related field preferred.

● Experience managing complex programs or multi-partner initiatives.

● Experience working within behavioral health, healthcare, workforce development, higher education, or nonprofit organizations preferred.

● Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

● Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines

● Ability to work independently, efficiently, and meticulously

● Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and evolving environment

● Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to navigate, work across, and invest multiple stakeholders

● Excellent communication and customer service skills within all audiences engaged

● Diplomatic nature with excellent problem-solving skills

● Desire to work in a healthy, positive, and fun team environment

● Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft and Google Suites

● Authorization to work in the United States.

● Valid driver's license

COMPENSATION

NMHC offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees.

Pay is $70,000 annually and is non-negotiable.
