BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - All applicants must first meet the education requirement as described below. (Must also meet one of the Additional Qualification Requirements below). Successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in an appropriate social or biological science which included or was supplemented by twelve (12) semester hours in psychology. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS - In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must also have specialized experience as described below to qualify for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-7: Do you have one (1) full year of technical work under the direction of a professional psychologist? At least six (6) months of experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade in the Federal service (GS-6) or one (1) year comparable to the second lower grade (GS-5) in federal service. NOTE Experience under the direction of a professional psychologist is required and must be documented on your resume.
These duties may include one or more of the following: (1) assisting in research as in systematic collection of psychology research data, recording and collecting of data, preparing tabular or graphic presentation of data; (2) assisting counseling psychologist in contacting potential employers for purpose of making vocational placement, providing follow-up consultation, administering and scoring of interest, achievement and aptitude tests, securing work history and other relevant vocational information; (3) assisting neuropsychologist in administering and scoring of selected tests; (4) assisting psychologists in completing behavior rating scales or in conducting behavior modification.

Administers Assessment, Scores, Secures Test Results:
- Administers, scores and compiles data from neuropsychological and psychological assessment instruments, including (but not limited to) complex standardized tests of intelligence.
- Performs technical functions related to the testing, including administration of neuropsychological and personality tests, and advanced neuropsychological testing batteries.
- Controls the testing environment and secures the test results.
- Administers all tests in a in adherence to test procedures and standardized administration.
- Performs timekeeping, observance or other controls during the test; ensures the validity of the test environment and controls the custody of test materials.
- Administers tests according to the procedures and protocols established for the individual test.
- Provides documentation in accordance with adopted policy of the Neuropsychology Department and Mental Health Service for purposes of communication of progress in completion of consultation requests or for purposes of communicating pertinent testing observations within the medical record.
- Oversees all Neuropsychology caseload organization and triaging of referrals in a manner to provide assessment and handling of priority referrals.
- Provides assistance to professional and other staff members.
- Performs clerical and ADP support, ensuring appropriate administrative processes are maintained.
- Maintains paper and electronic records of cases.
- Compiles regular and special reports from the case materials.
- Provides patient data to supervising neuropsychologists and presents tabular or graphic displays of data when necessary.
- Compiles, maintains, and updates both ongoing and special reports.
- Compiles and prepares required reports and, summaries, or submits pertinent data for inclusion.
- Attends to emergency situations by performing initial intervention when necessary and making immediate referrals.
- Contacts professional staff, immediately upon identifying emergency situations.
- Organizes and maintains filing systems for administrative, resource and training information. Maintains current files on facility bulletins, circulars, and memoranda.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
