At BTTR Living, we provide modern, person centered support for neurodivergent adults across the Bay Area through Regional Center and Self Determination services. We focus on real world independence, communication, confidence, executive functioning, and meaningful community integration.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, engaging, and socially intuitive Behavioral Technician to support a high functioning autistic adult working toward stronger communication, social confidence, emotional awareness, and independence in daily life.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Technician will provide 1:1 support in community and real life environments to help the participant strengthen conversational skills, social awareness, emotional regulation, confidence in public settings, and overall independence.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, emotionally intelligent, conversational, creative, and able to build genuine rapport without sounding robotic or overly clinical.
The goal is not to “fix” personality traits, but to support authentic growth, self understanding, confidence, and practical life success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support communication and conversational development in natural settings
- Practice social skills through real world activities and outings
- Encourage confidence with community interactions, friendships, and independence
- Assist with emotional regulation and self advocacy strategies
- Support executive functioning, planning, and organization skills
- Help participant navigate public spaces, appointments, restaurants, stores, libraries, gyms, and social environments
- Model healthy communication, boundaries, and interpersonal skills
- Document progress notes and session summaries accurately
- Collaborate with family, coordinators, and BTTR leadership as needed
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and person centered support at all times
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone who:
- Is naturally social, calm, patient, and emotionally aware
- Understands neurodiversity and respects different communication styles
- Can build authentic relationships without being overly clinical
- Enjoys mentorship, coaching, psychology, communication, or human behavior
- Has strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Is adaptable and comfortable in community based environments
- Can support adults in a respectful and empowering way
- Understands that independence looks different for everyone
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with autistic or neurodivergent individuals
- Background in psychology, behavioral science, education, social work, counseling, or related fields
- RBT certification preferred but not required
- Experience with executive functioning or social coaching is a plus
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

PAY
