Why This Role Matters
There is a massive gap between "having a disability" and "having a career." At Omega Health Services, we bridge that gap. We are a CARF-accredited leader dedicated to the radical idea that everyone—including veterans, individuals with autism, and those with developmental challenges—deserves the independence and dignity that comes with a paycheck.
We aren't just looking for an employee; we’re looking for a dedicated community advocate. If you believe that everyone deserves a seat at the table and you have the drive to make it happen, this is your invitation to join our mission.
A Day in the Life: How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role, you aren't stuck behind a desk. As a Vocational Counselor, you are the "boots on the ground" catalyst for success:
- The Matchmaker: Pair our consumers with local businesses, helping them confidently navigate everything from the first interview to their first promotion.
- The Bridge: Educate employers on assistive technology and reasonable accommodations, actively turning "barriers" into "solutions."
- The Coach: Provide 1-on-1, on-site support, teaching vital workplace social skills and helping coworkers become "natural supports" for our clients.
- The Strategist: Use tools like Asana and Google Workspace to track progress, document success stories, and collaborate with the Person-Centered Planning (PCP) team.
Is This You? (Our Ideal Candidate)
We hire for attitude, heart, and empathy, but you must be exceptionally organized. You will thrive here if:
- You are independent: You love the freedom of a "mobile office" and managing your own daily schedule.
- You are diplomatic: You can connect authentically with a corporate CEO one hour and a student the next.
- You are reliable: You have a valid driver's license and your own vehicle (we fully reimburse your mileage!).
- You are tech-literate: You are completely comfortable utilizing tablets and cloud-based software to manage your workflows.
The Requirements & Qualifications
To join our team, you must meet one of our educational pathways alongside our standard compliance and technical criteria:
Educational Track (Must meet one):
- Bachelor’s Degree (Ideally in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or History & Arts) OR
- Associate’s Degree + 1 year of relevant work experience OR
- High School Diploma / GED + 2 years of relevant work/life experience.
Mandatory Experience & Background:
- Tutoring/Education: Minimum of 3 years of general education or tutoring experience.
- Tech Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and Asana.
Mobility & Compliance:
- Valid Driver’s License and personal transportation with proper insurance coverage.
- Successful completion of a standard drug screen and comprehensive background checks (Federal, State, and County).
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon employment).
- Completion of Relias Training (completed on-site).
The "Omega" Perks: What We Offer You
We believe those who care for others should be well-cared for themselves. We invest heavily in your future:
- Fast Financial Growth: Competitive starting pay with eligibility for an increase after just 90 days.
- Professional Pedigree: We pay for your path! Gain access to company-funded, industry-standard certifications (ACRE, CESP, and WIP-C).
- Total Wellness: Comprehensive Health & Dental insurance, Life insurance, and a dedicated financial wellness program (SmartDollar).
- Tools & Travel Support: Full mileage and expense reimbursement, plus a company-provided tablet to keep your field work seamless.
