Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to provide consultation and therapeutic services in an outpatient setting for patients receiving mental health treatment related to work injuries. This role focuses on supporting individuals experiencing psychological conditions associated with occupational injuries, including chronic pain and stress-related disorders.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the LMFT will collaborate closely with Primary Treating Physicians and other providers in support of a Functional Restoration Program (FRP). The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a structured medical-legal environment and is skilled in evidence-based interventions that promote positive mental health and improved functional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral interventions, skills training, supportive therapy, and stress management techniques
  • Conduct standardized mental health screenings, including depression assessments
  • Deliver mental health services to patients before, during, and after participation in the Functional Restoration Program (FRP)
  • Serve as a guest lecturer to educate patients on psychological strategies for chronic pain management, mood regulation, coping skills, and resilience
  • Collaborate with Primary Treating Physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated patient care
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and workers’ compensation guidelines

Qualifications

  • Current and active California LMFT license
  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with workers’ compensation cases and/or chronic pain populations preferred
  • Strong understanding of biopsychosocial models of care
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
