Experteer Overview In this Psychiatrist 2 role, you provide independent psychiatric care within the Article 16 Clinic behavioral team, integrating medical services to support physical health and recovery. You act as a primary prescriber and guide other clinicians on psychiatric plans of care. You’ll diagnose and treat, supervise staff, and advise multidisciplinary teams to optimize treatment for individuals in a residential and programmatic setting. This position offers meaningful clinical leadership and the chance to shape specialized care in a state system. Compensation / Benefits • Independently diagnose, treat, and manage psychiatric care for assigned individuals • Prescribe psychiatric medications as a primary prescriber • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to medical personnel or clinicians • Advise residential multi-disciplinary teams on psychiatric plans of care • Oversee psychiatric services for a facility, program, group or unit as assigned • Advise on differential diagnoses and co-occurring disorders to inform care plans • Possibly supervise and/or manage psychiatric care for a treatment program or unit • Provide after-hours and weekend on-call medical telephone consult on a rotating basis • Cover psychiatric care for individuals in a Comprehensive Adult Transitional Home • Assist with physician coverage in sister regions Tasks • License to practice medicine in New York State • Board certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Key requirements • health insurance options • paid holidays (13) • paid vacation (13 days) • paid sick leave (13 days) • paid parental leave (up to 12 weeks) • retirement benefits (ERS)
