Company Description

At Official Pets, we recognize the meaningful role animals can play in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges. We place a strong emphasis on excellent client care, professionalism, and building strong rapport throughout the evaluation process. Official Pets serves as a referral and administrative support platform connecting clients with licensed providers. Providers working with Official Pets operate as independent contractors through their own professional licenses and are responsible for conducting evaluations in accordance with applicable laws, professional ethics, licensing requirements, and clinical standards.

Job Description

Official Pets is seeking experienced licensed mental health professionals to conduct remote ESA evaluations. This is a flexible, part-time, independent contractor role.

The ideal candidate is professional, responsive, clinically sound, experienced with ESA evaluations, and comfortable conducting mental health evaluations remotely. Providers must be able to assess each client individually and determine, based on their independent clinical judgment, whether ESA documentation is clinically appropriate.

Responsibilities

Conduct remote mental health assessments/evaluations for clients seeking ESA documentation.

Assess each client’s mental health needs and determine whether an ESA may be clinically appropriate.

Issue ESA documentation only when clinically appropriate and supported by the provider’s professional evaluation.

Maintain appropriate clinical, ethical, and legal standards.

Respond to client communications and follow-up requests in a timely and professional manner.

Collaborate with the Official Pets support team regarding scheduling.

Complete evaluations and documentation accurately and within appropriate timeframes.

Maintain confidentiality and follow applicable privacy and professional standards.

Qualifications

Must be an independently licensed mental health professional, such as LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, Psychologist, or equivalent.

Must hold an active license in good standing.

Must have prior experience with ESA evaluations.

Multi-state licensure is strongly preferred.

Must be comfortable providing services remotely.

Must be responsive, ethical, professional, and reliable.

Schedule

Flexible, part-time, remote independent contractor role. Availability may vary based on client demand and state coverage needs.

Important Note

Official Pets does not require or expect providers to approve every request. Providers are paid for completing the clinical evaluation process, not for approving requests or issuing ESA documentation. Providers are responsible for using their own independent clinical judgment and should only issue ESA documentation when clinically appropriate.
