Department: Youth Services/Youth and Family Counseling

Hours: 8:00 A.M to 7:00 P.M., Monday to Thursday

THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.

Must pass a Level 2 background check before appointment.

Provides family, group and individual mental health therapy services and counseling work to the assigned youth and their families in a variety of crisis/non-crisis situations in a residential or community-based setting. Youth are primarily referred for behavioral, school, peer, and family issues; but may also have some preliminary substance abuse and legal involvement. Provides treatment/prevention to at-risk youth and their families who are experiencing emotional/behavioral difficulties, family discord, truancy, other school problems, or substance abuse issues. Conceptualizes/analyzes problems presented by the family; develops/implements an effective plan of intervention with the family; performs periodic assessments of the determined interventions. Work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and the effectiveness of services provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience with individual, family, and group counseling or psychotherapy for children/adolescents.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Conducting family/children therapy or parent education in a residential setting or outpatient setting (must specify on application); performing crisis /risk assessments (must specify on application); utilizing a trauma-informed approach such as the Sanctuary Model. Also desirable: Knowledge of education/legal/local child and family resources welfare system (must specify on application); bilingual (Spanish/Creole).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,905.00 - $59,295.00 per year
