SummaryJob Summary: The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist provides outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication support, and management for children and adolescents. This role involves delivering comprehensive mental health services including diagnosis, treatment planning, prescription management, and psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary team setting.Responsibilities:Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management.Diagnose mental disorders using patient data and examination findings.Prescribe and administer psychotherapeutic treatments and medications.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and review treatment plans.Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.Counsel patients and families, providing education and support.Design individualized care plans using diverse treatment modalities.Participate in community outreach and education efforts.Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to coordinated care.Ensure compliance with medical protocols, regulatory standards, and quality improvement initiatives.Provide culturally competent care, especially for Native American/Alaska Native and underserved populations.Participate in professional development and training activities.Assist in data analysis and quality management initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements:Minimum age: 21 yearsMD or DO degree with a valid California medical licenseBoard certification in Child and Adolescent PsychiatryMinimum of two years' experience in community-based practice and healthcare deliveryCurrent CPR, ACLS, and DEA registrationKnowledge of trauma-informed care, domestic violence, addiction, and developmental issuesFamiliarity with public health principles and managed care systemsSensitivity to Native American culture and valuesValid California driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurancePost-offer requirements: CPR/BLS certification, TB test, annual flu shot (unless exempt), Hepatitis B vaccine offeredLicensure: California Medical License Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry DEA Registration CPR & ACLS CertificationSetting: Outpatient community health clinicSchedule: Full-time; schedule may include participation in outreach and community-based activitiesSupport Staff: Multidisciplinary team including physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and case managersEEO Statement - Tribal Health is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
