Overview
Join our dynamic summer team as a Temporary Summer Camp Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)! In this energetic role, you will support children with developmental disabilities, including autism, by implementing behavior intervention plans and fostering a positive, engaging camp environment. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in behavioral therapy, teaching, and patient care while making a meaningful difference in children’s lives during the summer months. Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing individualized behavior plans based on ABA principles to promote skill development and positive behaviors.
  • Support children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, feeding, and toileting to encourage independence.
  • Collect and record data on behavior and skill acquisition accurately to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
  • Engage children in educational and recreational activities designed to foster social skills, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with camp staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistency in behavioral interventions and care strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Support safety protocols and ensure a secure environment for all campers by monitoring behavior management strategies.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation procedures, and medical records management is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward teaching and patient care.
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and accurately collect behavioral data.
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification prior to or during employment is highly desirable.
