Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to individual client requirements.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress or trauma.
- Facilitate individual, group, family, and pediatric counseling sessions focusing on issues such as grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender identity, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic pain management.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology effectively for accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, special education staff, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to support ongoing program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience providing mental health counseling in outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on behavioral health or clinical counseling.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders, geriatrics, or individuals facing gender issues counseling.
- Familiarity with crisis management procedures and crisis intervention strategies for diverse populations.
- Telehealth experience is highly desirable for delivering remote patient care effectively.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving trauma, PTSD care, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or chronic pain counseling while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Strong skills in medical terminology and medical records management to ensure precise documentation of patient assessments and treatment plans. Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
