We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to join our growing team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will provide counseling, case management, treatment planning, and recovery support services to individuals dealing with substance use disorders.

This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community and helping clients achieve long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments, screenings, and intake evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment goals as needed
  • Coordinate care with healthcare providers, case managers, and community resources
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia licensing and documentation standards

QualificationsRequired:

  • Active CSAC certification in Virginia
  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with substance abuse, mental health, or behavioral health populations
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred:

  • Experience with Medicaid documentation
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and person-centered treatment planning
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Pay: From $27.52 per hour
