- Enhances the relationships with administration and staff members by communicating effectively, facilitating teamwork that supports the Grant objective and goals
- Monitors and reviews the productivity and provides recommendations to improve the quality and quantity of the district's mental health supports and training opportunities.
- Develops rapport with individuals, groups and communities to improve the well-being of students
- Encourages students to discuss emotions and experiences
- Examines issues including substance abuse, self-regulation, bullying, anger management, careers, depressing, relationships, social skills, self-image stress and suicide
- Works with families and hosts parent training nights in collaborations with the Project Director as indicated in the requirement of the grant application procedures
- Assists student define goals, plan actions and gain insight
- Develops therapeutic processes
- Conducts evidenced-based evaluation processes to determine students who are at risk of social, emotional and behavioral difficulties
- Takes a holistic (mind and body) approach to the well-being of students
- Certified New Jersey School Counselor. Appropriate New Jersey State Certification REQUIRED
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work preferred
- Background in Nurtured Heart Approach, Restorative Practices and/or experience working with students in trauma
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
- MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
- New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect
- Salary, terms and conditions as per PEA contract
