Full-Time Client Care Coordinator

Are you the type who lights up when a dog walks into the room or a cat crosses your path — and also happens to be great with humans? The Santa Cruz SPCA is looking for a warm, organized, and compassionate Client Care Coordinator to be the welcoming face of our shelter. You'll spend your days greeting potential adopters, playing matchmaker between families and their future best friends, and helping ensure every person who walks through our doors feels heard, supported, and maybe even leaves holding a leash.

This isn’t a behind-the-scenes role — you’ll be front and center answering calls and emails, coordinating adoptions, helping connect community members with resources, supporting foster families, and capturing content for our social channels. You’ll also mentor volunteers, assist with animal care tasks like feeding and walking, help coordinate owner surrenders, and support community events. No two days look the same, and honestly, that’s exactly the way we like it.

The ideal candidate has at least one to two years of customer service experience, a calm and empathetic demeanor, and a genuine love for animals and people alike. Comfort with basic technology (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other web-based platforms) is essential, and bilingual skills are a big plus. Weekends and occasional holidays are part of the role — because the animals don’t take weekends off, and neither do we.

Role Pay Range: $20.00-$25.38 (hiring range up to $22.07, DOE)
