Job Summary
As a Behavior Technician, you’ll work directly with children with autism or developmental delays, implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You’ll help children build communication, social, and daily-living skills while promoting positive behaviors. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, energetic, and eager to grow in the field of ABA.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children in home, school, or center settings.
- Follow individualized behavior intervention plans created by supervising BCBAs.
- Collect and record behavioral data accurately during each session.
- Implement teaching strategies and reinforcement techniques to promote learning.
- Maintain open communication with families, BCBAs, and team members.
- Participate in ongoing supervision, meetings, and training to enhance professional skills.
- Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and safety procedures always.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or GED (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Passion for helping children and families.
- Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation to client sessions in the Brooklyn area.
- Ability to work afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience with ABA therapy, childcare, or special education.
- Basic knowledge of ABA principles and data collection.
