The Community Support Specialist is a key frontline role that ensures the daily operations of the FVRC run safely, smoothly, and with resident success at the forefront. In this position, you will help create a structured, supportive environment that promotes positive reentry outcomes and community well‑being. Your role as a Community Support Specialist includes but it not limited to:

  • Schedule and provide daily transportation for residents to and from employment sites, medical appointments, and other program‑approved activities.

  • Conduct wellness and accountability checks at resident workplaces.

  • Manage resident check‑ins and check‑outs in accordance with facility policy.

  • Perform routine room, facility and Resident Offender searches to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Answer and route incoming calls with professionalism and accuracy.

  • Staff the front desk and maintain a secure, welcoming reception area.

  • Support general facility operations and contribute to program objectives as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
