Opportunity to support students’ mental health and well-being across a dynamic, diverse district near San Francisco in a contract role for the 2026-2027 school year. Engage in impactful, school-based ERMHS (Educationally Related Mental Health Services) as an itinerant counselor serving early childhood through transition-age youth across multiple districtwide sites. Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
  • Active California licensure (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW) or registered as an AMFT, APCC, or ASW with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and accumulating hours
  • At least 3,000 supervised clinical hours (or pathway completion in progress per BBS guidelines)
  • Pass California Law & Ethics and relevant clinical board exams
  • Familiarity with districtwide mental health support, special education populations, and crisis intervention
  • Mandatory Live Scan fingerprinting/background check clearance

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group mental health counseling services to students across multiple schools
  • Collaborate with special education and general education staff to implement IEP and ERMHS supports
  • Administer assessments, maintain confidential records, and provide progress reports
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student wellness
  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed to meet student needs
