Job Summary:
The Hospice Music Therapist provides planned, systematic, and evidence-based application of music as a therapeutic intervention for patients to provide symptom relief, relaxation and comfort. The Music Therapist collaborates closely with other team members to support emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs, enhancing quality of life and comfort throughout the hospice journey.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Music Therapy Interns/Students
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Provide educational information to members of the care team to facilitate referrals and promote the use of music therapy as a therapeutic intervention.
· Seek feedback from the care team regarding the effectiveness of interventions and use this information to modify and plan ongoing services as appropriate.
· Deliver music therapy services to a designated caseload of patients.
· Develop individualized therapeutic interventions and corresponding plans of care.
· Assess, evaluate, and document music therapy services accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
· Maintain statistics and records related to services provided.
· Provide program updates and recommendations to the director regarding program development and future direction.
· Participate in meaningful research activities to enhance practice and patient outcomes.
· Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and contribute to team discussions and care planning.
· Provide supervision, organization and guidance to all Music Therapy students.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners,organizations and volunteers to enhance awareness and utilization of music therapy services.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of appropriate HIPAA and confidentiality
· Maintain accurate documentation
· Able to work as both a part of a team and independently
· Possesses great organizational Skills
· Excellent time management skills.
· Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
· Knowledge of Microsoft products i.e. Excel, Word, etc.
Education and Experience:
· Baccalaureate degree in Music Therapy required
· Current board certification as a Music Therapist
· Minimum of 2 year music therapy experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Able to regularly lift and move up to 20lbs
· May have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Personal protective equipment provided, including masks

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
