Psychiatrist

Job Summary: Provides direct care to patients and serves as a consistent care coordinator through the continuum of care, assessing the physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs of the patient. Directs patients to the next appropriate service and tracks their progress. In collaboration with Medical Director, assures that all hospital behavioral health patients receive appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medical screening and medical/psychiatric evaluation whenever indicated, and that all medical/psychiatric care is appropriately documented in the medical record.

Essential Job Qualifications

1. Education: Physician, licensed to practice in NY.

2. Experience: Psychiatric work experience with patients.

3. Training/Certification:. Board certified or eligible in psychiatry

4. Licensure: License and currently registered physician in the State of New York.

5. Other: Qualified for membership on the Medical Staff. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Work effectively as a member of a culturally competent multidisciplinary team, have a thorough understanding of member rights, and knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.

The Center has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for its hip and knee joint replacement programs. It was the first to achieve this distinction in the lower Hudson Valley.
