Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our behavioral health team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality, trauma-informed mental health care to diverse populations and is preferably bilingual in English and Spanish to better support our community.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and collaborative care services for adolescents and adults in an outpatient behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications
  • Provide medication education and support to clients and families
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR system
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations
  • Support a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client-centered environment

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Texas APRN license
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority in Texas
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric experience preferred
  • Experience working in outpatient behavioral health, PHP, or IOP settings preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
