Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management, patient care coordination, and behavioral health planning.
- Document medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards; maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Engage in research activities related to mental health interventions, behavioral health outcomes, or clinical research projects to support continuous improvement.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to deliver remote counseling services, ensuring accessibility for clients with diverse needs including those with disabilities or in outpatient settings.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Strong knowledge of working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations for PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain counseling, and gender issues counseling.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in hospital or outpatient clinic settings with telehealth experience preferred.
- Competence in managing complex cases involving mental health disorders such as PTSD, Geriatrics issues, or working within special education environments.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology essential for maintaining confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.
