Psychologist Trainee / Limited Permit Psychologist – Telehealth (NY) | School Psychologists Encouraged

Doctoral-level school psychologists are strongly encouraged to apply.

Neurodiversity & Disability Affirming Therapy Ltd. is seeking a part-time fee-for-service psychologist trainee or postdoctoral fellow to provide telehealth psychotherapy services to adults across New York State.

This role may be a good fit for early-career psychologists completing supervised experience toward licensure who are interested in working with neurodivergent adults and individuals living with chronic illness or disability.

This position requires a minimum commitment of 10 clinical hours per week.

Clinical supervision toward psychologist licensure in New York is provided by an experienced licensed psychologist, and supervised clinical hours completed in this role may count toward required postdoctoral experience for licensure.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $40–$50 per completed 53–60 minute client or supervision session depending on experience and caseload

Neurodiversity & Disability Affirming Therapy Ltd. is a telehealth mental health practice specializing in therapy for adults who are neurodivergent or living with chronic illness or disability.

This position may be an excellent opportunity for doctoral-level school psychologists who are interested in expanding their clinical psychotherapy experience with adults.

School psychologists with doctoral degrees often bring strong expertise in:

  • Learning differences and executive functioning challenges
  • Collaboration with families and systems of care

These skills translate well to psychotherapy with neurodivergent adults and individuals navigating chronic health conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy via telehealth
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in supervision toward licensure
  • Coordinate care with other providers when appropriate
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards of care

Qualifications

Candidates must:

  • Hold or be eligible for a New York Limited Permit in Psychology
  • Have completed a doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) in psychology
  • Be comfortable providing telehealth psychotherapy
  • Have interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and people with chronic illness or disability

Applicants with doctoral training in school psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Applicants with training or interest in rehabilitation psychology, health psychology, neuropsychology, or disability-focused clinical work are especially encouraged to apply.

Licensure requirements are governed by the New York State Education Department.
