Experteer Overview In this role you provide comprehensive psychiatric care within VA outpatient settings, handling psycho-diagnostic assessments, various therapies, and medication management for a diverse veteran population. You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. You may lead mental health teams and contribute to teaching and program development. This position supports mission-driven care for veterans with complex psychiatric needs and emphasizes quality, safety, and evidence-based practice. Compensation / Benefits • Conduct psycho-diagnostic evaluations and apply evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches • Perform psychiatric assessments and management for diverse veteran patients including high-risk cases • Provide diagnostic assessment, medication management, suicide risk assessments, and crisis intervention across multiple clinical settings • Serve as mental health team leader with协调 of consults and triage of referrals • Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure comprehensive care • Order diagnostic tests and consultations; interpret results to guide treatment decisions • Ensure practice aligns with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies, and HIPAA guidelines • Engage in supervision/teaching for psychiatry residents and trainees; participate in on-call duties • Contribute to performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives; provide leadership guidance to staff • Complete clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner Tasks • United States Citizenship (non-citizens considered only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited) • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school • Current, full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state/territory/DC • Completion of residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility/certification • Proficiency in spoken and written English • Board certification preferred (implied by preferred experience) Key requirements • competitive salary • annual performance bonus • paid time off (leave, sick leave, holidays) • federal retirement and 401K with VA contributions • federal health/vision/dental/insurance options • CME reimbursement eligibility
