Position Summary/Department Summary:
Boston Children's Hospital's acclaimed Social Work Emergency Psychiatry Services (EPS) team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services. We are seeking a full-time clinical coordinator social worker to join our EPS team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory oversight of a number of EPS social workers in the ED in consultation with the social work manager.
  • In collaboration with the social work manager, this position will participate in programmatic development and will support the implementation of program initiatives within the assigned service area.
  • Serves as a primary liaison with the multidisciplinary team regarding clinical concerns or case practice decisions and will escalate quality assurance issues, and thematic trends to leadership as needed.
  • Provides direct clinical care and coordination of services for assigned patients.
  • Coordinates patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as appropriate.
  • Manages assigned caseload and ensures timely service delivery.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and community resources.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments and implements established interventions.
  • Identifies patient needs and facilitates appropriate referrals and services.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning.
  • Supports implementation of program initiatives within assigned service are
  • Provides feedback on program processes and patient care outcome
  • Participate in departmental meetings and case conferences
  • Serves as a clinical resource within scope of role.
  • Manages individual workflow and prioritizes individual responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • A master's degree in social work

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of social work experience required. Several years of medical social work leadership experience highly preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations.
  • Bicultural/Bilingual competency is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment (sense of humor is valued!).

Licensure/Certification:
LICSW in the state of MA required

This position is 100% onsite and new hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus
