Spirits and Non-Alc Blending Operator

BLENDING OPERATOR

Essential Functions

Precisely inspects, stages, weighs, and mixes ingredients according to the product recipes. Collaborates with Quality Assurance Technician on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed.

Pre-weighs, blends, and liquefies components for spirits preparation.

Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations.

Performs cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers.

Blending, batching, filtering, and transferring of spirits.

Calculating inventory tank readings.

Preparation of all products to meet bottling schedule using approved formulas and company specifications.

Blending fixes and final approvals prior to bottling.

Bulk receiving and inventory management.

Perform dump floor operations, including unloading barrel trucks and operating fill-out equipment.

Accurately record and confirm the correct barrels for each dump.

Documenting blending volumes from the bottling schedule.

Submitting batches samples to laboratory for analysis and approval.

Responsible for safety, quality control, and cleanliness of work area.

Troubleshoot, inspect, diagnose, adjust, test, maintain, and clean all facility equipment including, but not limited to; mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and digital, pneumatic and manual instruments.

Encourage a culture of safety, with a continuous focus on improving safe work practices to maintain an injury free environment.


Provide troubleshooting and corrective action support to electricians and mechanics.


Strong attendance and work performance.


Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements:

Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.

Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Good vision and manual dexterity.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, operating powered industrial equipment, forklift and pallet-jack.

At least 21 years of age.

Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Knowledge of processing/batching activities.

Proficient at basic math (adding, multiplying and subtracting) 

Proficient technology skills, including Google suite and ERP software.

Strong troubleshooting skills and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Able to push and pull at least 100 pounds.

Able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach upward/downward, crouch, ascend/descend stairs/ramps/ ladders and enter tight/restricted areas on a daily basis.

Able to work under varied environmental conditions, including cold and heat.


Qualifications

Relevant process operating experience in any of the following environments: distilling/brewing/food manufacture/petrochemical/pharmaceutical.

Strong analytical, organization and time-management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with all departments and levels of management.

Must work well with other departments and levels of management.

Understanding of P&ID’s, specifications and schematics.

Experience of operating pumps and valves.

Ability to read and interpret gauges for pressure, vacuum, temperature, and flow rate.

Ability to read and understand basic process drawings.

Experience in distilling or brewery operations preferred but not required.
