Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Nationally Certified School Psychologist for the current and upcoming 2026-27 school year. This role involves providing comprehensive psychological services to students across various educational settings, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in school psychology to assess student needs, develop intervention strategies, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to promote positive outcomes. Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs related to learning, behavior, and emotional health.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support students with disabilities.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focusing on social-emotional development, behavioral management, and crisis intervention.
- Design and oversee safety plans for students experiencing mental health crises or behavioral challenges.
- Apply evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral health strategies to support student progress.
- Manage case documentation accurately within medical records systems, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and medical terminology.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to coordinate services, conduct early intervention initiatives, and facilitate effective communication.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities related to school psychology and special education.
- Support crisis management efforts by intervening during emergencies and developing appropriate safety protocols.
- Engage in social work activities when necessary to address broader student or family needs impacting educational success.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist at the national level (e.g., Nationally Certified School Psychologist credential).
- Demonstrated experience working with children in educational settings, including familiarity with special education processes such as IEP development.
- Proficiency in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluation, and case management techniques.
- Knowledge of child & family counseling methods, crisis intervention strategies, and conflict management.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
- Strong understanding of behavioral management principles, social work practices, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Ability to interpret medical terminology related to mental health assessments and document findings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality while managing medical documentation responsibly.
- Flexibility to adapt interventions based on individual student needs across diverse populations. Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
