Pay Range: $27.34 to $28.39 per hour
Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking a full time Substance Use Counselor to join our Goldman Clinic, one of Philadelphia’s oldest and largest outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs.
The Goldman Clinic provides comprehensive outpatient, intensive outpatient (CAP IOP), and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, including methadone, Suboxone, and Vivitrol. Services are delivered in a structured, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive environment, with specialized programming for Spanish-speaking participants.
This role is ideal for counselors who want consistent daytime hours and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a well-established outpatient treatment setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy sessions
- Lead psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and recovery focused groups
- Support clients enrolled in outpatient, CAP IOP, and MAT services
- Document all clinical services and progress notes in the Electronic Health Record
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical supervision
- Coordinate referrals, aftercare planning, and community support services
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use treatment, counseling, or human services
- Experience working in outpatient, methadone, or MAT programs strongly preferred
- Knowledge of addiction recovery, co-occurring disorders, ASAM criteria, and trauma-informed care
- Strong group facilitation, documentation, and clinical assessment skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
- Relevant certification or licensure preferred but not required
