Position Summary

We are seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) to provide direct counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and passionate about helping clients achieve long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and relapse prevention strategies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
  • Ensure compliance with Connecticut state regulations and ethical standards
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) credential in Connecticut
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or bachelor’s preferred)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in substance use treatment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, relapse prevention)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient, IOP, or residential treatment settings
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages a plus)
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
