Position Summary
We are seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) to provide direct counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and passionate about helping clients achieve long-term recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and relapse prevention strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with Connecticut state regulations and ethical standards
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
Qualifications
- Active Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) credential in Connecticut
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or bachelor’s preferred)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in substance use treatment (preferred)
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, relapse prevention)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient, IOP, or residential treatment settings
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages a plus)
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
