Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) serves as the campus community mental health center for students. The Department's mission is to support students' emotional and intellectual development, emotional resiliency and personal well-being toward optimizing their ability to thrive in UCLA's diverse learning environment. CAPS psychologists, clinical social workers and psychiatrists provide clinical, outreach and mental health promotion services. Clinical services are confidential and available to regularly enrolled students. Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Director or designee, support the mission of Counseling and Psychological Services and the University in providing the highest quality mental health services for the wide range of students at UCLA. Perform a wide range of complex tasks including counseling and psychotherapy with students; consultation, outreach, prevention and mental health education on campus; emergency services; supervision. Perform, in addition, mental health services within a specialty. Accept overall direction from the Director, or designee, and participates in meetings, committees and carry out necessary charting and data requirements. Act in a manner consistent with the APA code of ethics. Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications: Minimum of three years professional experience in a mental healthsetting with at least one year in a student counseling or studentmental health setting. (Required) Demonstrated ability to conduct brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention (Required)Demonstrated skills in consultation work with professional and non-professional colleagues. (Required)Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication. (Required)Demonstrated ability to evaluate and intervene with severely disturbed students. (Required)Knowledge of applicable laws and ethics pertaining to mental health. (Required)Required Ability to work with a diverse population. (Required)Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment. (Required)Knowledge of basic computer skills, e.g. Windows, Word. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations: Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology from an APAapproved program and completion of an approved internship.Support Tasks (Required) Licensed for the practice of psychology in California.
