Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide vital mental health services, including individual and group counseling, to diverse populations, with a focus on individuals with dual diagnoses and a wide range of mental illness. Your expertise in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral management, and crisis intervention will help foster positive outcomes for clients. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and behavioral management strategies.
- Implement crisis intervention protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies, including managing acute mental health crises and PTSD care.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and support services aligned with client goals.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Engage in case management activities, including patient assessment, data collection, research participation, and ICD coding for diagnoses such as ICD-9/10.
- Support patients through behavioral health challenges by applying skills in social work, special education, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities.
- The position is supervised by a psychologist, LPC-S
Requirements
- Valid state licensure or registration as an LPC-A (Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate).
- Experience working with individuals with dual diagnoses in an IOP setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing, crisis management, addiction counseling, and mental health counseling techniques.
- Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation, patient care, patient assessment, and clinical research methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations requiring crisis intervention or crisis management skills.
- Experience working within behavioral health settings such as hospitals or community clinics is advantageous. Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
