Harlingen Innovative Rehab (HIR) is a clinician-owned, multidisciplinary therapy practice serving the Rio Grande Valley. Led by a doctor of clinical psychology who is not only a, BCBA Board Certified Behavior Analyst but also a speech-language pathologist. Our team delivers evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Speech-Language Pathology services to children and adults across the lifespan. Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for implementing individualized ABA therapy programs under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This is an ideal role for Bachelor's- or Master's-level candidates in psychology, special education, or a related field who are seeking supervised clinical hours, professional mentorship, and meaningful daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs as written in each client's individualized treatment plan
- Collect precise, real-time behavioral data using paper and digital data systems
- Implement Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) protocols and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as directed by supervising BCBA
- Provide ABA therapy in clinic, home, school, and community settings
- Maintain accurate session notes and communicate client progress to the supervising clinician
- Participate in parent and caregiver training sessions
- Attend required supervision meetings, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Uphold BACB Ethics Code and all HIPAA/confidentiality requirements
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment for all clients
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required) or Master's degree (preferred) in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Social Work, or closely related field
- Current RBT Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) — OR willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire (training provided)
- Ability to obtain or current clearance: Texas DPS Background Check, National Sex Offender Registry, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry (CANRS)
- Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver's license
- Physical ability to engage in active therapy sessions with pediatric and adult clients (bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, or related clinical field
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, or developmental delays
- Prior ABA clinic or school-based therapy experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) — strongly preferred given our Rio Grande Valley client population

Work Schedule & Location
Location: 1510 S Expwy 83, Harlingen, TX 78550 (clinic-based with community visits)
Hours: Monday–Friday, with some afternoon/evening availability preferred. Part-time and full-time positions available.
This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available for this role.
