School Psychologist

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Center-Based Program TBD

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Master’s degree from an accredited university.

2. Michigan approval in school psychology.

3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with parents and professionals associated with Special Education.

4. Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience with special needs students.

2. Clinical experience with varied school related problems.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development.

4. Experience in cognitive function.

5. Experience with Community Mental Health, First Resources, and similar agencies.

6. Experience with the development of positive behavior support plans and Functional Behavior Assessment.

7. Transition planning.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

1. Establish a schedule and conduct psychological evaluations of students.

2. Assist in crisis situations and develop behavior plans in cooperation with the professional staff.

3. Interpret psychological findings.

4. Consult with other professionals representing community resources.

5. Attend all staff meetings.

6. Attend and/or conduct staffing on students.

7. Conduct individual counseling with selected students.

8. Evaluate new methods and techniques in cooperation with the school staff.

9. Participate in the in-service and school improvement training programs.

10. Work with professionals to develop student goals and objectives.

11. Complete Medicaid forms.

12. Review all new files for accuracy of M-Team psychological, and IEPT reports.

13. Other assignments as determined by building administrator.

WORKYEAR: 186 day calendar

START DATE: Fall 2025

SALARY: Per Macomb Intermediate Federation of Teachers Master Agreement.
