Service Coordinator / Service Advisor (Marine, Automotive, Powersports)

We are a growing, family-owned dealership hiring an experienced Service Coordinator / Service Advisor to manage customer communication, repair orders, and shop workflow.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in:
Automotive Service Advisor jobs, Marine Service Writer roles, Powersports Service Departments, or Dealership Service Coordination.

If you understand repair order management, technician scheduling, and customer service in a shop environment, this is a strong fit.

Customer Service / Service Advisor Duties

  • Act as primary contact for service customers (in-person, phone, text, email)
  • Write and manage repair orders with accuracy and detail
  • Communicate service updates, timelines, and upsell opportunities
  • Handle customer concerns and ensure high Customer Satisfaction Index and Net Promoter Scores
  • Follow up with customers and support manufacturer surveys

Shop Coordination / Workflow Management

  • Schedule and dispatch work with Shop Foreman and technicians
  • Track all units in the shop and ensure efficient turnaround times
  • Maintain workflow to maximize technician productivity and shop profitability
  • Ensure quality control without compromising efficiency

Administrative & Dealership Operations

  • Audit repair orders for accuracy (labor, parts, pricing, sublet)
  • Coordinate with Parts Department for parts availability and inventory
  • Administer warranty jobs in the best interest of the customer, dealership, and manufacturer
  • Assist with insurance jobs and service-related problem solving
  • Support service promotions and customer retention initiatives
  • Participate in boat shows and dealership events

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, Service Coordinator, or Technician
  • Background in automotive, marine, RV, or powersports dealerships preferred
  • Strong knowledge of repair orders, service scheduling, and shop operations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced service department environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient with computers (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, dealership software, tablets)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Willing to take a background test and drug screening in accordance with the law

Schedule

  • Summer: Mon–Fri 9am–5pm, Sat 9am–2pm
  • Winter: Tues–Fri 8am–5pm, Sat 9am–2pm

Overtime is required during peak season. Flexibility is essential.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $45,000 – $60,000/year (based on experience)
